PREVENTION OF NOSOCOMIAL INFECTIONS
This KANE EDUCATIONAL workshop has been customized for hospitals, rehab/long term care facilities and Home Health Care companies wanting to take immediate steps in the prevention of nosocomial infections by refreshing their staffs “hands on” bedside sterile technique.
Our highly dedicated and experienced RN instructors accomplished this through “live” hands-on demonstrations of clinical procedures with facility staff performing “return demonstrations” under instructor supervision. Participants will be observed and graded on their sterile technique. Courses Include:

Inserting a Foley Catheter
Suctioning via Trach
Wound Care Dressing Change
Applying Sterile Gloves
Changing a Central Line Dressing
KANE EDUCATIONAL SEMINARS will try to included an additional procedure request by facility if give 10 day advance notice.
IV CERTIFICATION & UPDATE (30 Hours)
KANE EDUCATIONAL offers participants the best “hands on” IV experience of any IV certification class. Our dedicated and highly experienced RN instructors will first demonstrate – and all participants will “return demonstrate” the following IV skills:
Starting a peripheral IV with intracaths as well as butterfly needles
Spike/Prime an IV bag
Central Line Dressing Change
Draw blood and flush a PICC Line
Insert a Huber Needle in a Port-A-Cath
Understand the difference between a Hickman and Groshong
Regulating an IV with different IV pumps and regulation devices
Piggyback IV Meds/Different deliver systems for IV meds
Calculation of Drop Factor
Needless Cap Change/IV site selection/Needle Gauges; etc.
Facilities are welcome to add a specific topic if not covered (with 10 days advance notice).
All students will receive an IV DVD to keep, of spiking/priming and starting an IV.
IV Certification includes 7 hours of “hands on” seminar plus 24 hours of home study for a total of 30 CE Hours.
